Anita Magaña is a print designer and art director based in Portland, Oregon, working primarily in gaming, comics, and pop culture. Her work centers on deluxe print treatments, including foil, debossing, and specialty finishes. Over more than nine years at Dark Horse Comics, she created deluxe art books for Critical Role, Naughty Dog, SEGA, Gearbox, Wizards of the Coast, and Disney, bringing imaginative worlds to life as collectible objects for devoted fans. She designed and art directed The Pokémon Character Guide and led the first Kickstarter for Star Wars publishing, which raised over $300K. Earlier in her career, she designed for Reed College and completed contract projects in healthcare and retail. She holds a BA in Film Production from UC Santa Cruz and an AAS in Graphic Design from Portland Community College. She is a former AIGA Portland board member and mentors students through AIGA and PSU.

Outside of work, Anita spends as much time as she can with her family and her dog, usually backpacking and hiking around the Pacific Northwest. She loves food, whether that means trying a new restaurant or spending a weekend in the kitchen making croissants and hot sauce from scratch. She also cares about Portland's art community, and you can often spot her at local galleries, workshops, and art classes.
